the play
MeinDayYourTag is an end-of-the-world comedy. It reflects the absurdities of different contemporary forms of society that are moving, separately and together, towards their edge, in brilliantly iridescent perversions of their original ideals.
A last posing and defiant flicker of utopias that have fallen ill, undermined, hollowed out, wrapped in the most terrible shell to be found among the stock of their origins.
In MeinDayYourTag we laugh at images of a completely dysfunctional society, at lives that even Orwell lacked the imagination for, but which have now become shrill reality.

the project
First in Germany, then on a world tour.
a hybrid art project as a serial format.
with different guests. over several years. with stops in several countries. not always on stage. also in unusual places. rarely in familiar forms of presentation. crossing media.
Interwoven everyday situations of different ways of life. My day, your day, placed side by side, mixed together.
with guest artists from all over the world, all over the world.
the idea
a bilingual theatre project with a strong musical component
aiming to use language and music to let audiences experience the particularities of today's German way of life directly interlocked with those of other countries.
Through seemingly mundane everyday things, the descriptions of a daily routine, we get to know life in a country like Germany.
The text passages are set to music that dramatises and gives shape like a film score.
These elements of German culture and way of life are interlocked with equivalent elements from the host country, created by artists from that country.
This creates mixtures, a getting to know each other and a direct exchange and mix.
The foreign is brought closer, the related is recognised.
The interlocking also works the other way round, for example when German music underscores an Indian text and vice versa.
